The Challenge
Each year in conjunction with the flooring industry's major trade show event - Surfaces in Las Vegas - Wilsonart Flooring looks to host an evening event to honor and thank its distributor partners for their year-long support. Between distributor principals, their key sales staff members and Wilsonart Flooring management, this undertaking culminates in a 300 guest event.

The Solution
For the 2005 Wilsonart Flooring distributor event, MAI worked with the client to develop the theme, "Wilsonart Flooring & You... Make A Lasting Impression," pull together a schedule of events, and then coordinate every detail surrounding the party - from catering right down to invitations and post-event follow up.

The Results
Wilsonart Flooring's distributor partners enjoyed an evening where they were truly the stars - and the stage has been set for yet another year of making lasting impressions.

Elements
Pre-Event Marketing - MAI developed the invitational package which included the printed invitation and a "travel care" kit. MAI also coordinated the mailing of these packages. In addition, MAI conceived and produced an "in room" gift consisting of a Texas-shaped box containing chips, salsa and a long-neck beer which served to welcome guests in true Texas-style upon their arrival in Las Vegas. MAI coordinated delivery of these gifts to 272 guest rooms in 12 different hotels.

Event Planning - Working with Wilsonart Flooring personnel and various resources, MAI managed the menu planning, décor, lighting and AV support requirements for the event.

Video Production - This event also serves as an opportunity for Wilsonart Flooring to recognize specific distributors for their outstanding performance during the previous year: MAI helped add to the excitement this year by producing pre-taped awards presentation segments for the Distributor of the Year Award. MAI also oversaw creative and production of various "bumper" videos which were used to tie different segments of the evening together.

Post-Show Follow-up - To keep momentum high, MAI created, produced and fulfilled a follow-up mailing targeted to event attendees that contained a commemorative CD comprised of footage from the evening and the awards ceremony.

Background
Wilsonart International was founded as a producer of high-pressure decorative laminate in 1956. Wilsonart began producing laminate flooring for residential usage in 1995 and has established itself as the industry's second largest manufacturer. MAI has enjoyed a working relationship with Wilsonart International for more than 20 years and has served as the agency-of-record for Wilsonart Flooring since its inception.
